“I was extremely fortunate to have been selected for an internship at Sun Global. The 8 week programme was an immensely rewarding experience where I both increased and developed my core skill sets. The team at Sun Global made me at ease straight away and by day one, I was part of the “Sun Global Team”. The internship was incredibly comprehensive, throughout the course of it; I was given exposure to all areas of which Sun Global specialises in, such as Sales Trading, Asset Management, Operations and Corporate Finance. I was explained each process in detail and then independently did the work. This was extremely valuable as I was able to put the theory I had learnt into practice. Thus, I was entrusted with responsibility that enabled me to learn faster through making my own mistakes and then rectifying them. By the end of the placement, I was given a thorough understanding of the Financial Services Industry.”

“One of the highlights of my career to date was being accepted for the internship at Sun Global Investments. The experience was fantastic; I worked closely at the Trading Desk where I observed live transactions and was able to frequently access Bloomberg for research and analysis purposes. The professionals at Sun Global taught me in detail a vast series of financial products traded across many international markets, and the fundamental differences between them. I was given responsibility from day one in the form of thorough reading of company financial reports, and other research material which I was required to analyze and draw conclusions from. My work was then assessed by the analysts, and I received feedback and very valuable suggestions on how to improve. However, this does not envelop the extent of tuition I received during the eight week period. My training extended into the Operations Unit where I was given numerous tasks including portfolio management, data reconciliation, constructing reports, and calculating brokerages amongst other assignments. It was not long before I started to work independently and advance through my own errors and achievements. Accounting required me to do plenty of number crunching which was an enjoyable practice. Overall, the internship was a superb learning curve; it was inspiring and induced great confidence in my own abilities.”
